I have a background in Learning and Development which spans 28 years, having worked in different roles in organisations, as well as in my own self-employed business. A key focus of my work is leadership and management development, developing leadership programmes that have coaching as their foundation. I wanted to gain a recognised coaching qualification, firstly to add credibility and recognition for the coaching I was offering to leaders and managers, and to increase my skills as an internal coach. I found Inspired2Learn when looking for providers that offered ILM coaching qualifications and was immediately drawn to their supportive approach.
On enquiring, I was impressed that owner Clare Smale immediately offered to talk me through the qualification and what it would involve. Her personal approach meant that I knew I would be given the support when needed through an ILM Level 7 qualification alongside the tutoring, webinars and supervisions.
Inspired2Learn has a wealth of webinars and resources for students to support every aspect of the qualification, both on skills development and advice around the assignments and portfolio. I was allocated a tutor, who initially supported me with the level that was needed for the assignments and then provided support and feedback on the coaching aspect of the programme. Clare also always gave detailed feedback on the assignments when they needed improving, and was on hand to support with a 1:1 when I was putting my final portfolio together. At every stage in the qualification I was able to access support when I needed it.
The ILM qualifications are well recognised and therefore require a robust approach from students undertaking it – inspired2learn didn’t just give me the course materials and leave me to it, they provided advice and support at every stage, so that there was clarity on how to submit work to the level required. As I had not studied a formal qualification for a while, this support was invaluable and I am not sure I would have gained an ILM Level 7 without it. Clare and the tutors at inspired2learn respond quickly to any questions or queries, so you get guidance rapidly when you need it.
Doing the ILM Level 7 coaching and mentoring qualification with inspired2learn has added a layer of rigour and quality to how I apply coaching to my work ethically and to a high standard.
